SALARY: $25.00 Hourly (NEGOTIABLE)
(Employees will receive 5% below the negotiated pay rate during their probationary status.)

  POSITION SUMMARY
Position is responsible for providing and ensuring that all maintenance needs are completed at a high-level for Oneida Nation. Leading, training, and mentoring of Maintenance staff will also play a role in the overall health, safety, and maintenance of the Oneida Nation's facilities. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead and direct Tribal maintenance projects to include, but not limited to the repairs and maintenance of building infrastructure systems.
2. Lead and implement assigned work tasks from projects beginning through completion.
3. Follow safe and proper procedures for using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, power tools, standard measuring instruments and making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
4. Estimate material and labor costs for construction jobs.
5. Install, repair and perform preventive maintenance work at all Department of Public Works (DPW) Facilities, emergency devices and mechanical. Duties include, but not limited to inspecting fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, generators, building access, and facilities equipment.
6. Troubleshoot and repair of building systems.
7. Document repairs and Preventive Maintenance using the Archibus Work Order System.
8. Ensure short- and long-range planning for all Facility maintenance.
9. Working cooperatively and ensuring excellent customer service with all internal and external customers.
10. Assist with Custodial and Grounds Keeping responsibilities as required, to include, but not limited to shoveling, cleaning, removal of snow and ice, and upkeep of the grounds and buildings.
11. Ensure excellent customer service with all internal and external customers.
12. Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies.
13. Maintain strict department security, confidentiality, and quality to meet professional standards of the department.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Frequently stand, walk, bend/stoop, squat, climb heights, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, push and pull.
2. Occasionally sit, crouch, crawl, lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
3. A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge and experience estimating labor and material cost.
2. Knowledge and experience in rough carpentry to include layout of walls, rafter and truss layout, install soffit (metal and wood), install roofing, install pre-hung doors interior and exterior, install windows.
3. Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) work safety standards.
4. Skill in finish carpentry such as hanging doors, installing all types of finish trim to included base, casings and moldings.
5. Skill in hanging cabinets upper and base units to include counter tops, installing floor tile and rubber base, taping and finishing drywall, installing shelving and laying out steps, interior and exterior is required.
6. Skill in operating computers and various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment, which includes preparing and maintaining work orders.
7. Skill in organizational management. This requires the incumbent to plan, organize and schedule priorities efficiently and effectively, meet strict deadlines and successfully cope with challenging situations and conditions.
8. Ability to interpret and work from architectural drawings, blueprints and schematics and the Uniform Building Code, Electrical Code and Safety Code.
9. Ability to inform and communicate verbally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations with the ability to process information effectively, identify and define problems and make objective decisions.
10. Ability to set concrete footings and estimate concrete hangs drywall.
11. Ability to work at heights using lifts and ladders.
12. Ability to operate and maintain forklift, snowblower, lawn equipment, hand tool, power tools and wood working machinery.
13. Ability to exercise good judgment in job assignments and personal capabilities and be able to communicate these needs.
14. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
15. Ability to work as a team member and foster a positive working environment.
16. Ability to obtain Lift equipment certification within one (1) year of hire.
17. Maintain strict departmental security, confidentiality, and quality to meet professional standards of the department.
18. Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.
19. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Nation's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
0. Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation's Gaming Division.
21. A valid driver's license or occupational driver's license, reliable transportation and insurance is required. Must obtain a Wisconsin driver's license or occupational driver's license within thirty (30) days of employment if applicant has an out-ofstate driver's license. Must be authorized as eligible to operate a Personal and Tribal vehicle under the Oneida Nation's Vehicle Driver Certification and Fleet Management Law prior to actual start date. Must maintain driver's eligibility as a condition of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma, HSED Diploma or GED Certification; applicants aged fifty (50) and older are exempt from this requirement; two (2) years of work experience with carpentry, electricity, plumbing and Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning (HVAC) systems; five (5) years of work experience in construction residential/commercial carpentry trades; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
