SALARY: $15.00 Hourly OPEN TO ONEIDA ENROLLED TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY

    NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: 32 HOURS PER WEEK


INTERN DUTIES/PROJECTS 

  1. Learn to deliver excellent customer service while handling inbound/outbound calls and emails with the utmost professionalism 50%
    1. Assist with responding to Contact Us inquires from the Oneida Nation website
    2. Assist with responding to Call Center inquires with Call Center Coordinator
    3. Provide accurate information and details to Tribal membership regarding the Oneida General Welfare Assistance Law
  2. Assist with and participate in the Website Steering Team 20%
    1. Tasks include meeting preparation and meeting notetaking
  3. Learn to monitor and assist with Facebook Live segments 10%
  4. Assist with podcast production 10%
  5. Assist with other GIS projects 10%
    1. General Tribal Council (GTC) Prep meetings
    2. Members Only website
    3. Community meetings within In Event virtual meeting platform
  6. Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies.
  7. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position. The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.


COLLEGE MAJOR
  1. Communications, Public Administration, Business Administration, Project Management or closely related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  1. Frequently walk, sit; use hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
  2. Work is generally performed in an interior setting with a moderate noise level.
  3. A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Ability to learn about the organization, functions, objectives, policies and procedures
  2. Ability to learn how integrate the Oneida Nation's history and culture into the workplace
  3. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively verbally, digitally, and in writing.
  4. Ability to make decisions based on provided guidance
  5. Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
  6. Familiarity with and ability to use basic functions of social media platforms
  7. Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters.
  8. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Nation's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
  9. Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation's Gaming Division.
