Manager, CPG Category Lead

Panera CPG is approaching $400 million in annual retail sales and growing rapidly.
Our CPG offerings are inspired by our bakery-cafe menu and include Refrigerated Soup, Refrigerated Mac & Cheese, Refrigerated Salad Dressing, Sliced Bread, Artisan Bread & Rolls, and Coffee. Panera CPG products are sold through grocery, mass, club, and other channels in collaboration with our licensed business partners.
This role will be located at our Support Center in Newton, Massachusetts.
We are looking for a versatile Category Lead to manage one or more of Panera's CPG categories, working closely with the CPG Director that oversees several current (and future) categories. This is an exciting general management role for someone with a CPG marketing background.
The primary responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:
Collaborate closely with licensed partner and internal team members to develop annual business plans and drive successful execution across sales, distribution, marketing, and innovation.
Collaborate with internal team members and licensed partner to drive product innovation from strategy and concept evaluation through product development, package design, and launch.
Track and analyze business results and IRI data to identify issues and champion growth opportunities.
Collaborate with licensed partner and internal resources to develop and update sales forecasts.
Help manage relationship and contract with licensed partner.
Collaborate with licensed partner to develop brand, category, consumer insights for sales and retail influence.
Provide input on product assortment, pricing, and trade promotion strategies and plans.
Contribute to planning and execution of Panera CPG portfolio marketing.
Bachelor's degree with an MBA preferred
3+ years proven success in CPG food or beverage marketing/brand management.
Skilled leader in developing and executing plans across marketing, strategy, and innovation.
Enjoys developing strategic plans and rolling up sleeves to execute and evaluate.
Strong strategic, creative, and analytical skills. Ability to blend art and science.
A self-starter and creative problem-solver with a positive can-do attitude. Must be flexible, diplomatic, collaborative, and resourceful.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills at all levels of an organization. Agile in influencing without authority.
Strong negotiation skills.

Experience working closely with sales teams, including development of sales presentations.
Experience working closely with culinary/R&D teams to develop new products.
Experience writing creative briefs.
Experience managing and evaluating marketing agencies and vendors.
Experience analyzing IRI/Nielsen data to develop actionable insights.
Experience evaluating effectiveness of marketing programs and trade promotions.
Experience leveraging consumer research to help inform direction.
Experience in one or more of Panera's existing CPG categories a plus.
Skilled in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
