Sr. Manager, Solutions Architect (18-21)

The Sr. Solutions Architect will participate in discussions with business stakeholders to understand business strategy and identify relevant gaps and key technology components that will need to be acquired or developed to fill these gaps. The ideal candidate will have financial services experience, including a background in credit & gift card processors and payment terminals.

This position will be based out of the Laumeier Support Center, located in St. Louis, MO.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in discussions with the business stakeholders to understand business strategy and identify the relevant gaps and key technology components that need to be acquired or developed to fill these gaps.

  • Participate in design and architecture across large scale products, provide leadership to scrum teams.

  • Gather functional, technical, and business requirements needed for a solution. Work with business analysts to understand and refine requirements.

  • Work with project management, product owners, and business owners to manage technical scopes.

  • Evaluate new technologies, processes, and infrastructure in small spike POCs. Determine multiple paths forward with pros and cons. Prepare proposed recommendation to stakeholders and take initiative to obtain consensus among stakeholders.

  • Ability to size level-of-effort related to a solution.

  • Collaborate with other Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to develop cross platform solutions. Work cross-functionally with other departments within Panera and 3rd party vendors.

  • Work with QA team to define test cases related to the solution.

  • Determine industry best practices in architecture, software engineering and mentor others on practices.

  • Foster a culture of agility, innovation and out-of-the-box thinking through Hackathons and other events.

  • Promote culture of shared services and reusing these services across technology teams.

  • Stay on top of new and upcoming technology trends.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience as a solutions architect with complex enterprise systems.

  • Ability to translate a business architecture into a solution architecture. System Integration experience and ability to provide key input on technology decisions.

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, relational databases as well as NoSQL within a complex integration landscape.

  • Mastery of 3 or more of the following technologies: Java/Angular, CI/CD, Microservices, Event-based architecture, REST web services, Containers, API Management tools.

  • Understanding of Content Management Systems. Specific knowledge of Adobe AEM is a plus. Experience with Adobe Products is a plus.

  • Ability to learn new subject areas, especially payments. The ideal candidate will have financial services experience, including a background in credit & gift card processors and payment terminals.

  • Strong foundation in SDLC and participation in multiple phases of a project. Agile with a multi-modal SDLC process depending on the individual team's culture. Ability to provide leadership throughout multiple phases of SDLC.

  • Technical leadership and mentoring of development teams. Experience coaching and mentoring technical talent.
