To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable professional to join our team as a Technical Support, Engineering Technician in our Maintenance Department.  The primary responsibility of the position is to prepare and/or review a variety of engineering documents including Fleet Campaign Directives, Engineering Orders, and various other engineering service documents.  This position will report to the Manager, Technical Support Engineering.

Essential Duties:

  • Review service bulletins for incorporation, investigation, and development of reliability related issues

  • Review and track all major repairs and alterations

  • Serve as a liaison to contract engineering agencies

  • Additional technical and administrative tasks as needed

Job Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Airframe & Powerplant Certified or Four-Year Degree in Aviation Management or Engineering

  • Working knowledge of Piedmont Maintenance Policies and Procedures

  • Experienced at mapping and using repair drawings

  • Knowledgeable of aviation materials and processes

  • Knowledgeable of Embraer 145 series systems, structures, and manuals

  • Resourceful in developing solutions to improve efficiencies in the Engineering Department

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Basic understanding of reliability-controlled maintenance

  • Familiar with Federal Regulations as applicable

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance Department or other quality system experience

  • Ability to develop repair drawings and system redesigns with CAD/CAM

  • Proficient with MS Access

Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment

  • Airport ramp/warehouse environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Employment is contingent upon a clear driving record, 10-year Criminal History Records Check, and drug screen as required. We also require proof of high school or GED completion. Minimum 18 years of age.

Benefit package includes paid training, holiday pay, 401(k), vacation, and family travel on the American Airlines network.  Medical and dental available.

Starting Rate:

$70,000.00/Annual Salary
