Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina has opportunities available for Physician Assistants to join their Neuro critical care team.

  • Level I Emergency Trauma Center
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • APP led unit providing complete management of the critically ill patient. Perform consultations on neurosurgical and stroke patients.
  • 2 APPs during day and one at night for 24/7 in-house coverage.
  • 14 bed neuro ICU and a totally closed unit and no consults or patients outside the unit or ER.
  • 12-14 shifts a month.
  • CME allowance
  • 6 week on the job orientation and no independent patient assignments during that time and will always be paired up with a senior APP
  • Support and back up from NeuroIntensivists, Neurosurgeons , Anesthesiologists, stroke physicians 24/7 .
  • Opportunity to teach and mentor neurology residents rotating through unit.
  • Opportunity to attend weekly conferences at Richland for neurology, stroke , critical care and weekly Grand Rounds and lectures .
  • Collaborate with Magnet designated nursing staff who are stroke trained and NIHSS certified.
