Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina has opportunities available for Physician Assistants to join their Neuro critical care team.
- Level I Emergency Trauma Center
- Comprehensive Stroke Center
- APP led unit providing complete management of the critically ill patient. Perform consultations on neurosurgical and stroke patients.
- 2 APPs during day and one at night for 24/7 in-house coverage.
- 14 bed neuro ICU and a totally closed unit and no consults or patients outside the unit or ER.
- 12-14 shifts a month.
- CME allowance
- 6 week on the job orientation and no independent patient assignments during that time and will always be paired up with a senior APP
- Support and back up from NeuroIntensivists, Neurosurgeons , Anesthesiologists, stroke physicians 24/7 .
- Opportunity to teach and mentor neurology residents rotating through unit.
- Opportunity to attend weekly conferences at Richland for neurology, stroke , critical care and weekly Grand Rounds and lectures .
- Collaborate with Magnet designated nursing staff who are stroke trained and NIHSS certified.
