At the Kansas City research hospital and ER, our mission is to touch lives with hope, healing, comfort and care. Located in beautiful Kansas City, Missouri, our hospital system is comprised of three health clinics that embody the heart of the HCA Midwest Health system. Our additional two campuses include Research Medical Center Brookside Campus, 6601 Rockhill Rd, and Research Psychiatric Center, 2323 E 63rd St.

Research Psychiatric Center has provided comprehensive behavioral health services for more than 25 years to teenagers, adults and seniors dealing with emotional disorders, mental illness and substance abuse.

Research Psychiatric Center SAGE senior behavioral unit is a beautiful 10 bed unit at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO there we care for the senior adult patients whose psychiatric symptoms have posed significant problems or safety hazards in their home environment. Patients come to the BHU from other long-term care facilities and private homes. Each patient has a personal treatment team to address both psychiatric and physical illnesses, which can often underlie psychiatric symptoms.

What you will do in this role:

  • Provide professional therapeutic services to behavioral health patients on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Research Psychiatric Center.
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care
  • Work collaboratively with members of the health care team, maintains a safe environment, and provides patient and family education
  • Licensed Social Service Clinicians are responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, discharge planning/case management service, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the hospital.
  • Demonstrate competency to provide age appropriate care to adolescent patients (12-18 years of age), adult patients (18 and older, including geriatric patients age 55 years+).

What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited university.

Knowledge/Professional Licensure/Registration/Certifications:

  • Current Missouri Licensure for independent clinical practice (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT)
Experience:
  • Prior experience working with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting. Prefer experience with case management, discharge planning, group leadership skills, age specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management, family therapy theory and practice.
