The position of Program Engineer will be based out of our Indianapolis, IN location!

Summary

The Program Engineer will be responsible for Identifying, developing, and implementing customer solutions that are accretive to the existing business.  This role will support the Parts Super Center (PSC) initiatives for on-time & defect free product fulfilment.  The Program Engineer will also create detailed program sales strategies & initiatives for channel partners and end customers.


What You'll Do

  • Oversee modifications and complex quotations and orders
  • Work with sourcing to identify and transition commodities to new suppliers where applicable
  • Manage a team of Technical Specialists who are responsible for producing quotations, processing orders and associated bills of materials & drawings
  • Develop and implement lean style process improvements for quotations and order fulfilment 
  • Identify & lead “cost out” supply chain opportunities to maintain competitive pricing
  • Lead all program efforts to achieve on time delivery QMS targets
  • Act as the primary interface with sourcing, quality, operations, and inside sales for non-conforming material to maintain QMS compliance
  • Actively pursue key accounts in conjunction with Regional Sales Leaders and Inside Sales Team to achieve commercial goals
  • Responsible for technical proposals
  • Responsible for training 
  • Identify complimentary sales adjacencies for the program and across programs
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Post-Secondary Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • CAD/CAM 
  • 10+ years direct experience
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Mechanical or Electrical Design of Medium & High Voltage Circuit Breakers & Switchgear
  • Experience with Field Service & Project Quotations
  • Manufacturing & Contract Manufacturing
  • Application & Requisition Engineering

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of IEEE Switchgear & Circuit Breaker Standards
  • Ability to read Electrical One Line, Schematic & Wiring Diagrams 
  • Familiar with US installed switchgear base and industry segments
  • Knowledge of customer maintenance and operating practices including repair/replace decision making
  • Understanding of life extension processes for switch gear
  • Ability to develop tailored technical and commercial solutions per customer requirements
