The Sponsored Programs Officer (SPO) will perform pre-award and non-financial post-award research administration duties in support of Rockefeller University Investigators and their laboratories in pursuing and managing sponsored research funding. This is a central sponsored programs office position. The SPO will partner with researchers and their staff, assisting with budget development, verifying compliance and contractual issues, reviewing applications, monitoring and informing faculty/staff of pertinent requirements, regulations, and laws, and routinely interacting with University departments, investigators and sponsors. Additional responsibilities include staying informed about evolving federal policies, guidelines and sponsors' requirements, supporting preparation of progress reports for timely submission, and guiding and assisting with electronic submissions. The SPO will be a team member and active contributor to overall Sponsored Programs Administration efforts, as well as other projects assigned to support the Sponsored Programs Administration operations and continued development. Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of experience in research administration at either a department or central level required. Must have the ability to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations with numerous and diverse demands. Must accurately prepare and maintain records, files and reports and be able to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision. Must be professional while interacting with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in an academic-oriented environment. Must be able to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet inflexible deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
