The Facility Safety Officer is responsible for the safety of staff, patients, and visitors at Rose Medical Center (RMC), physician office buildings on RMC campus and off-site locations where services are provided. Has the authority to intervene at any time environmental conditions immediately threaten the life or health of the occupants of RMC facilities, including unsafe activities or practices. Is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the facilities Environment of Care Program to include but not limited to the Safety Management Program, Fire Safety Program, Hazardous Waste Program, Emergency Management Program, life safety measures, construction safety and risk assessments, and regulatory compliance to meet the needs of Rose Medical Center. Responsible to ensure RMC is prepared for and successfully passes any inspections or surveys focused on the Joint Commission, Environment of Care/Life Safety codes and/or CMS standards. Will partner with the Director of Regulatory to ensure programs are compliant and in alignment with hospital expectations. When need arises, performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

~ Hospital Safety professional certification preferred ~ Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred, with related experience in healthcare.
~ Minimum of 2-5 years experience in acute care setting ~ 3-5 years of expereince in healthcare safety preferred ~ Previous leadership experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
~ Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes related
to healthcare and Safety and Environmental Health as well as The Joint Commission standards. ~ Must have the ability to assess information, apply critical thinking, determine best course of action, and convey necessary information to the interdisciplinary team. ~ Must have skills in conducting investigations, analyze findings and reporting as needed. ~ Requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. ~ Must be able to lead and motivate individuals at all levels of the organization. ~ Must be able to prioritize workload and respond to variability in workload depending on census and organizational need. ~ Requires working knowledge of basic statistics and statistical analysis
methodologies as well as the ability to translate data/statistics into relevant information for staff within the organization.
