Title: Media Relations Specialist

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Marketing Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Generates a positive global brand image for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center through effective media and influencer engagement. Generates written and multimedia content highlighting Roswell Park programs, activities, innovation, patient stories and personnel and reaches appropriate public and media audiences through strategic outreach/distribution of that content. Cultivates positive relationships with media outlets, reporters and content creators across traditional media and digital media spaces; tells stories through shareable, interactive, measurable brand journalism; maintains and optimizes Roswell Park's online newsroom as an engaging, interactive resource for all journalists and content creators; monitors media coverage and impact to inform media relations strategy and priorities. Salary range is $65,001 to $82,656. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time media relations experience.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

The preferred candidate will have demonstrated abilities or previous work experience in any or all of the following areas: Broadcast journalism; digital communications and content creation; shooting, editing and packaging video/multimedia content; writing and distributing press releases; content creation for an academic health center; science communications for general audiences.

Advanced degree in journalism, marketing, communications or a related field a plus.
