Job Summary

The NVH Project Engineer II will quote, manage and execute Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) product development programs. As part of the team, you will work with customers and vendors to develop and manufacture custom NVH control solutions. You'll use your time-management skills in developing and reporting project critical elements (i.e. open issues, project timing plans, budget variances, etc.) to management, internal, and customer teams. You will be responsible for these solutions from the initial design stages through the end of life of the product. This position is located in Livonia, MI.

As a NVH Product Development Engineer II, you will:

  • Conducts tests, document test set-up and process test results
  • Define, manage and support NVH product development programs and objectives
  • Work with manufacturing plants to ensure delivery and quality objectives are met during production
  • Work with customers and suppliers to develop and implement appropriate quality documentation
  • Delegate assignments to a cross functional team to accomplish program objectives
  • Maintain customer contact to identify new business opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Completes additional tasks as needed

To be considered a NVH Product Development Engineer II, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program management and product development tools and processes (change control, risk identification, phase gate)
  • Proven customer relationship skills including the ability to interpret customer requests and deliverables with a focus on cost, quality and delivery
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively host presentations and work with cross functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to follow directions and prioritize a wide range of assignments

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Experience with NVH related testing and solution development
  • Experience with noise and vibration control products; familiarity with viscoelastic materials
  • Experience with various manufacturing processes such as casting, stamping, rubber molding, etc
  • Experience in automotive program management, preparation of quotes and timing plans, APQP and PPAP package preparation/submission
  • Working knowledge of quality system documentation within an ISO / TS format
  • Familiarity with CAD software and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance)
  • Willing and able to travel overseas to low-cost manufacturing sites
