SAIC is looking for a Drafter CAD Operator in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy. This position will provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane code GXT

Job Responsibilities:

• Creating and modifying detailed drawings using AutoCAD CAD Software
• Working closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design
• Working independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation
• Performing a variety of moderate and complex tasks and using a variety of tools to include, but not limited to: Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design, development and verification/validation of first article pieces

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 

• Associate's Degree with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience; OR High School Diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience
• Experience with using AutoCAD with view-ports using the model tab, layout out tab, scaling and layers
• Hands-on mechanical and electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of currently accepted  manufacturing processes and ISO procedures
• Understanding of Architectural Layouts and procedures
• Must be able to communicate complex ideas effectively and complete professional correspondence.
• Able to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instruction 
• Knowledge of:  ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000 an associated Drawing Standards, Technical Data Packages, and Military Standards

Required Clearance:

• Candidate must be able to obtain Interim Secret clearance Prior to start and Secret clearance to stay on contract.  US Citizenship required to obtain clearance.  SAIC will assist with clearance process
