SAIC is seeking a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Analyst to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program at the US Air Forces Europe / Air Forces Africa (U-A) Warfare Center (UAWC) in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) standards that support the US Air Force, Department of Defense, and mission partners facilitating all-domain Warfighter training across the full spectrum of conflict.
This role of this position is to facilitate the delivery of tactical training to US and partner-nation JTAC's spanning the United States European Command (USEUCOM) and United States Africa Command (USAFRICA) Areas of Responsibility.
The JTAC M&S Analyst will:
- Provide M&S and Operational Support of the following models and simulators:
- Deployable Joint Fires Trainer (DJFT)
- Desktop Trainer-100 (DT-100)
- Joint Terminal Control-Training and Rehearsal System (JTC-TRS DOME)
- Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE)
- Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG)
- M&S Support of models and simulators includes, but is not limited to:
- Testing, configuration management, troubleshooting, and integration of models, simulators, and associated hardware/software into local and distributed Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) networks and architectures for participation in military exercises and events.
- Hardware and software maintenance, to include: application hardware/software upgrades, hardware repair, and system patches.
- Providing support for all models, maps, underlays, terrain databases, and scenario entities in preparation for, during, and after events.
- Ensure models and simulations comply with UAWC Information Assurance and network security protocols.
- Training augmentation personnel to appropriately control constructive and/or virtual entities to provide a realistic training environment.
- Operational Support of models and simulators includes, but is not limited to:
- Performing White / Blue / Red Force functions during execution of Tier 1-4 exercises and training events with virtual and constructive models.
- Developing mission scenarios, mission materials, and presentations, and for integration into UAWC-sponsored and supported Tier 1-4 training/exercise events.
- Prepare and lead mission planning, white force briefings, pre-mission briefings, and hotwashes with the exercise audiences.
- Coordinate with exercise planners to integrate simulators into relevant exercises and training events, assist other planners in meeting area of responsibility (AOR) mission requirements during events, and control/manage Instructor Operating Stations (IOS) for various JTAC simulators.
- Within the domains / mission areas identified above: prepare, coordinate, conduct briefings, and lead discussions with a wide range of audiences as requested by the Government.
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen and possess an Active U.S. Secret security clearance.
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification.
- A master's degree plus 10 years of recent JTAC / M&S experience, OR; A bachelor's degree plus 18 years of recent JTAC / M&S experience, OR; 22 years of recent JTAC / M&S experience
- Familiarity with US Air Force or Joint training requirements, methodology, and procedures.
- Proficiency using MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
Desired Experience/Qualifications:
- Demonstrated M&S Analyst experience supporting:
- Deployable Joint Fires Trainer (DJFT)
- Desktop Trainer-100 (DT-100)
- Joint Terminal Control-Training and Rehearsal System (JTC-TRS DOME)
- Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE)
- Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG)
- Tactical Assault Kil (TAK) environment, to include: ATAK, WinTAK, and TAKServer.
- Experience in the European Theater of Operations (ETO) exercising Theater Operations Plans and Contingency Plans.
- Experience working in a distributed environment using both Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and High-Level Architecture (HLA) protocols.
- Experience working in both a Joint Live Virtual Confederation (JLVC) and Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) environment.
- In-depth knowledge of USAF or Joint planning cycles and processes as well as the employment of US weapons systems in missions that include: Close Air Support (CAS), Strike Coordination and Reconnaissance (SCAR), Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), and Special Operations.
- JTAC with minimum of 200 hours of instructor or evaluator experience within the past five years; or have recent experience providing like training support.
Travel – International travel up to 10%
Expected Salary Range - Highly dependent on candidate qualifications: $120,000-165,000
