SAIC is seeking a skilled Engineering Tech V to join our team in Bedford, IN.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- You will join a team to maintain, assemble, and install complex server racks and workstations.
- You will collaborate with the project lead, government engineers to assist in sustainment and assembly, and the Configuration Management (CM) team to develop procedures, processes, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
- The successful candidate will utilize strong problem-solving skills with industry best practices to deliver new functionality and upgrade existing features to meet customer requirements.
- The individual will integrate reliably into a collaborative team environment.
Primary Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in maintenance and assembly of server racks.
- Assist in material tracking and inventory control.
- Ability to read and interpret a government Technical Drawing Package (TDP).
- Assist in the design and development of technical process for the implementation of ECPs and configuration updates to systems.
- Basic electronic trouble shooting to identify issues with units returned from the fleet (servers, routers, switches, and power supplies, etc.).
- Assist in the creation of technical documents and test procedures.
- Ability to adapt in a Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) environment by assisting in finding alternate suppliers or replacement sources for discontinued or end of life material and hardware.
- Basic network and troubleshooting skills required for detecting issues in assembled equipment.
- Assist the government software team in the final Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) on completed assemblies.
- Troubleshooting and performing first power-up test on installed systems.
- Travel required to designated sites to install assembled systems.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma (prefer Bachelors degree and 3 years or more related experience).
- 7+ years' experience in a technical environment, preferably government contracting.
- Must be able to read and interpret a government TDP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Excel and Word.
- Tactical networking experience.
- Experience with Linux (with C, C++, Java).
- Familiar with cybersecurity principals.
DESIRED:
- Preferred current Secret Clearance and DOD experience.
CLEARANCE:
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
