SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Senior Technical Drafter to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the Sr. Technical Drafter is responsible for responsive and coherent planning, development and delivery of PARCS and UEWR radar hardware and software modifications in response to change requests and deficiency reports. This position is in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to understand and interpret their design concepts, sketches, and technical specifications.
  • Develop design drawings according to engineering sketches and proposal specifications.
  • Digitize, edit, and revise engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures and/or assemblies.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to address any design-related challenges, providing support and adjustments as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, drafting techniques, and software advancements, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation in the design process.
  • Manage and organize design files, patterns, and technical documentation in a systematic manner to facilitate seamless information sharing within the factory.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on the final products, ensuring they adhere to the established design specifications and industry standards.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize numerous assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 5+ years' experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Experience working with CAD programs, creating software, hardware and engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Gather and interpret complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player with demonstrated ability to manage projects, tasks, and special assignments independently.
  • Manage documentation and diagrams for multiple products simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience working with agile teams and methodologies.
  • Experience with Visio, Cameo, and Microsoft Office suite.

Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
