SAIC is seeking a Technical Writer in Washington DC. This is support the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) cybersecurity mission to ensure HHS can actively protect the vital health information with which it is entrusted, respond to existing and emerging cybersecurity threats, and continue to enhance the program to ensure HHS has the capability and capacity to respond to new and emerging requirements, technologies and threats.
The Technical Writer is part of the contract's Project Management Services team and shall support project teams and system owners in identifying and documenting business needs, supporting research and analysis of business options, ensuring solutions meet business needs, and assisting owners with acceptance testing.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participate in project meetings to ensure projects are on track to meet business, technical, and security requirements.
Prepares and/or maintains documentation pertaining to all aspects of cybersecurity projects, engineering, testing, and user documentation.
Translates business specifications into user documentation.
Plans, writes, and maintains systems and user support documentation efforts.
Plans, writes, and maintains policy document frameworks.
Consolidates technical input and analysis into logical reports.
Creates documents based on pertinent technical drawings, technical information from pamphlets, consultations with the technical personnel, and other available sources.
Required Experience: 2 or more years of relevant technical writing and cybersecurity experience.
Certification Requirement: Industry standard cybersecurity certification, e.g. Security+ preferred.
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
