SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Technical Writer with experience in drafting in Colorado Springs to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief of Staff, the Technical Writer is responsible for responsive and coherent drafting, development and delivery of PARCS and UEWR radar hardware and software modifications in response to change requests and deficiency reports.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Writes and/or edits complex engineering diagrams, user manuals, reports, briefings and presentations, guidelines, and other project deliverables to meet contract requirements
- Develops, revises, and produces technical orders' change pages. Reviews content of technical documentation for quality
- Ensures proper application of applicable government standards and guidelines for technical writing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field and 5+ years' experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Experience working with CAD programs, creating software, hardware and engineering drawings and schematics
- Gather and interpret complex technical information for technical and non-technical audiences
- Must be a self-motivated team player with demonstrated ability to manage projects, tasks, and special assignments independently
- Manage documentation and diagrams for multiple products simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with agile teams and methodologies
- Experience with Visio, Cameo, and Microsoft Office suite
Target salary range: $95,001 - $105,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
