Subject Matter Expert III
Applies knowledge in a technical field with proficiency in relevant engineering principles and practices. Implements solutions to difficult problems, generates concepts as evidenced by product or process improvement, uses engineering/scientific tools to integrate requirements and solve technical problems. Utilizes tools, techniques, processes and/or facilities such as stateof-
the-art simulation environments, laboratories, and test facilities. Participates in engineering team activities in a specialized engineering or technology subject area. Contributes to the technical planning process and provides technical guidance.
Participates in engineering team activities, works with subject matter experts and program managers to understand UTM system specifications. Uses system engineering tools, technics, and principles to analyze and evaluate all aspects of UAS Traffic Management (UTM) technical proposals with consideration to system integration as a whole.
The candidate must be able to analyze complex emerging UAS and aviation technologies. This includes consolidating, cross referencing, and deciphering technical data presented in technical reports, white papers, briefing, workshops, and technical working groups.
Contributes to the technical planning process and provides technical guidance and recommendations. Must be able to effectively communicate highly technical concepts across a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders in both oral and written form.
Master's Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field and 10 years of experience in performing the above duties or aviation-related experience. Master's Degree may be waived with 12 years of experience in performing the above duties or aviation-related experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field.
