This advanced position is located in a fast-paced, highly analytical, and dynamic environment and operates under the general direction of the Manager, Payroll Tax and Accounting. The position is required to maintain compliance with complex Federal, State, and Local payroll tax laws and regulations for 22,000 associates located in all 50 states. This person must possess extensive broad knowledge of all aspects of payroll including creating, reconciling, and analyzing payroll reports. The position requires advanced knowledge of General Accounting and payroll tax reporting practices.
Responsible for all Federal, State, and Local payroll tax deposits processed through ADP
Responsible for balancing and reconciliation of
quarterly Federal 941 reporting/filing
annual Federal 940 reporting/filing
quarterly State Unemployment Insurance reporting/filing
all State Income Tax reporting/filings
Responsible for month end general ledger close processing including
general ledger labor balancing
labor journal entries
Performs general ledger account reconciliations for various payroll accounts
Responsible for completing Payroll Settlement Process and related integrations
Performs tax law research in order to maintain compliance with all federal, multi-state, and local tax jurisdictions and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures.
Performs year-end W-2 reconciliation and processing
Conducts monthly Federal and State tax audits
Execute action plan by ensuring work is completed efficiently and on time
Demonstrate good judgment by evaluating problems based on data and developing potential solutions
Initiate action by being proactive and taking prompt action to accomplish work goals
Bachelor degree in Accounting or similar field OR High School Diploma and 3+ years of related experience as outlined in the responsibilities
Working knowledge of general accounting practices
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and Google
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
FPC or CPP
Working knowledge of Federal, Multi-State, and Local payroll tax laws and resources
Willing to work all Mondays including holidays. Willing to work weekends and evenings as needed. Must be able maintain a high level of confidentiality and have good organizational skills. Incumbent must be able to prioritize tasks and have the ability to work under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met. Must be able to maintain accurate record keeping.
