We're looking for someone who is diverse and ambitious; looking to push boundaries, test limits, take risks and solve problems. We're a company leading the future of manufacturing and our multi-brand strategy supports a culture of innovation, even after 50 years of success. In this role, participants gain diverse work experience and are exposed to multiple areas of the company, including manufacturing, distribution, extrusion, technical development, information services, and corporate administration. We provide our co-ops with opportunities to apply their skills and knowledge to real working environments, while also giving support through networking opportunities and access to a nationally-recognized training program.
What you'll be doing:
In our co-op program, students complete a series of rotational assignments, alternating between semesters working at Shaw and taking classes with their university. As students advance in the program, responsibilities increase, and projects may be requested that match their skills and interests.
Industrial Engineering/Operations Management: Working on a variety of projects, students offer new perspectives and ideas to improve both productivity and quality. Improvement recommendations often involve costs, logistics, and capital layouts.
Mechanical/Electrical Engineering: Students work alongside other mechanical and electrical engineers, participating in or leading projects related to equipment upgrades, new equipment installations, and predictive maintenance.
Chemical Engineering: Ensuring the highest quality products, students have the opportunity to work with dye lines, laminating ranges, extrusion processes, chemical blending, and quality testing.
Textile/Fibers Engineering or Yarn: Working in all levels of plant operations, students are involved in promoting safety, process control, and ensuring quality production requirements are established and met.
