Custom Shop Firearms Technician

Position Summary:
The function of the Firearms Technician is to review, repair, and upgrade customer(s) firearms that are returned for service, repair, or upgrade, while maintaining department quality and performance standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Must be able to perform all standard firearms assembly procedures, work, and repairs on manufactured products according to provided work instructions and training.
*Must be able to diagnose and trouble shoot firearms manufactured by Sig Sauer.
*Must follow all Sig Sauer's Processes when working on Firearms.
*Maintain department quality and performance standards.
Complete required work and supporting documentation accurately and on time.
*Must be able to communicate effectively with all customers in a respectful and professional manner.
*Must be able to effectively communicate quality and design issues with engineering and quality team.
*Must be able to effectively coach, train, and provide assistance to other technicians.
Some travel may be required.
*Must comply with all Sig Sauer and ATF firearm policies when transporting firearms.
*Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Education and/or Experience:
*High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Effective written and oral skills; ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers; Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
*Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using all units of measure.
*Basic computer literacy; Ability to learn and utilize required computer databases and email programs.
*Ability to work with minimal supervision.
*Must be able to pass Sig Sauer's Range Certified Course.
*Successful completion of the Sig Sauer Academy Armorers Courses.
*Must be able to understand part prints using Agile, and Oracle.
*Must have advanced experience in multiple Sig Sauer firearms product lines.
*Must be able to follow Sig Sauer's quality standards.
*Must participate in a 5s environment.
*Safely operate firearms in a range environment to evaluate proper function and performance (cycle of operation, accuracy, and enhancements).
*Valid driver's license required.
*Must be able to safely and effectively use all manual and power tools necessary for required services.
*While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, the employee will be exposed to high impact noise when operating in the firing range. Some duties require the wearing of eye and ear protection. The job position requires working with firearms and live ammunition in a controlled environment.
*While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit, handle, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to effectively communicate and comprehend verbal and written instruction. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. *Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus, clear vision at 20 inches or less, clear vision at 20 feet or more. Ability to identify and distinguish colors, peripheral vision, depth perception.

Working Conditions:
*Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
