Mechanical Dimensional Inspector 

2nd shift

Position Summary:
Entry-level position responsible for learning how to effectively use all basic precision measuring hand tools, micro-heights, and comparators used at SIG SAUER to perform basic inspections. Performs a variety of inspections in the production process using learned methods including visual, dimensional, and functional as well as the use of variable and attribute gaging. Runs and reports out on basic CMM programs and reports generated using precision automated inspection equipment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Efficient/effective performance of routine mechanical inspection to inspection records and mechanical drawings using pre-trained/determined methods for product acceptability.
*Review inspection data to assure integrity and investigate/resolve discrepancies found during the part inspection.
*Using the company operating system to reach necessary inspection sheets, complete inspection forms/documents, perform movement of material, and any other functions required to perform job duties.
*Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.
*Write detailed, clear, and concise reports on inspection findings.
*Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality and productivity.
*Run basic CMM programs and utilize precision automated inspection equipment.
*Participate in 5S Workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
*Other duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:
*Familiar with the use of general measurement tools (i.e micrometers, calipers, etc.).
*Basic MS Word and Excel skills.
*Basic blueprint reading skills.
*Understanding of machining processes.
*Some knowledge of components, assemblies, and product form, fit and function. 

Working Conditions:
* Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
* Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required for specified activities
