Sights Lab Inspection/Tester

1st Shift

Position Summary:
Must understand the operation of various stations within the Sights Lines which produce assembled sights. The Sights Lab Inspector/Tester is responsible for, but is not limited to, final inspection and live firing of complete night sights. This position reports to the Quality Supervisor.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Inspection of finished Night sights to ensure that production meets or exceeds defined quality standards.
*Perform visual quality checks accordingly for each station of the Sights Line.
*Understand the operation of all stations within the Sights Line to help perform periodic audits of each station to ensure that in-process material meets or exceeds defined quality standards.
*Be able to troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues at each station.
*Report any potential quality issues to operation management.
*Perform specific shift tasks, i.e., Pull Tests, Live Fire testing, wash concentration verification, etc. to ensure product conformance.
*Process and file production reports accordingly.
*Work in concert with the Production Manager to provide staff coaching.
*Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
*High school diploma and/or Associates degree required; or 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and understand verbal directions.
*Must be able to work well in a fast-paced changing environment.

Physical abilities and Requirements:
*Regularly perform repetitive tasks
*Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
*Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
*The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing area where frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts, containers, and materials up to forty (40) pounds.
*Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
*Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools in the assembly of parts.
*Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and ability to focus on fine print.
*Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
