Description

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

For decades, Smyth has brought our customers' labels and packaging to life, creating a customer experience that is second to none, and enabling them to stand out over the competition. To support our continued growth in the print industry, we are offering an Apprenticeship Program designed to EXPLAIN and TRAIN the full “life of a label” with the goal of developing talent that has a clear understanding of what we do, and why we do it, at each step of the process. Talent that completes the program will transition to a full-time role that best suits their strengths and abilities and contributes to the continued success of Smyth! Fast track to a career that could otherwise take YEARS to develop!

Participants in our Apprenticeship Program will spend up to (3) months on focused, in-depth training in each Production Department, from Pre-Press to Shipping, and everything in between. Total participation timeframe is approximately 12 - 18 months. At each step along the way, knowledge and skills will be assessed, and success will be rewarded with commensurate wage increases.

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION TODAY!

All participants in our Apprenticeship Program are eligible for our full benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, and much more

Starting hourly wage for Apprenticeship Program participants will be based on the skills and experiences you bring to Smyth.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Possess mechanical aptitude

  • Be mathematically astute; from addition & subtraction to division, with full utilization of a ruler
  • Be well versed in reading, writing, and ability to engage and manage to verbal & written instructions (English)
  • Be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing & pulling of materials, equipment, and tools on a regular basis

The Apprentice will work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. As we manage through the completion of the Apprenticeship Program, we will determine the best suited shift (3 Day/12 Hour shifts, 4 Day/10 hour shifts, 5 Day/8 hour shifts, both Day and Night) based on preferences, business demands and availability.
