About the Must Haves

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience performing Full-Stack Software Engineering for complex applications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant STEM from an accredited institution
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess a current Top Secret Clearance
  • Your resume must demonstrate experience:
    • Using front-end technologies, back-end technologies, and databases
    • Proficiency designing and implementing microservices architectures
    • Evidence of working in Agile development environments and the associated ceremonies
    • Familiarity with cyber operations concepts and requirements
    • Consistently producing high-quality code resulting in robust, secure, and reliable software
    • Proof of optimizing software performance
    • Understanding concepts of security by design in software development
    • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development
    • Receptive to user feedback
    • Proficiency with the following tools/technologies: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, Angular, React, Node.js, Jest, GitLab, SQL

Responsibilities

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer at SPA, you will be assigned to support the Space Systems Command Program Office developing software solutions to perform cyber operations in defense of the US Space Force's mission systems. Using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to implement a DevSecOps approach, you will enable the rapid development and shipment of software solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground- and space-based cyber adversarial threats. You will be expected to understand and apply the best practices and standards for secure software development and deployment as set forth by Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) Top 10 policies and procedures. You will be expected to design, develop, test, integrate, and deploy software in accordance with the concepts and techniques defined by the 12 Factor App development practices (12factor.net), cloud native (cncf.io), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF).

 

As Full-Stack Software Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and participating in Agile and/or DevSecOps ceremonies.
  • Demonstrating expertise and implementing Test Driven Development (TDD) and/or Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) practices that meet a minimum of 80 percent or more coverage of the code base.
  • Implementing linting to evaluate code for programmatic and stylistic errors and conducting unit testing to test all pieces of code.
  • Adhering to the organization's definition of “Done/Ready.” The code has been written, peer reviewed, merged into the main branch, successfully passed a complete set of automated tests, tagged with a version within the source code configuration management tool, and deployed into an artifact repository.
  • Providing expertise in functional, integration, automated, dynamic, and static security and testing for code development.
  • Demonstrating expertise operating in accordance with agile principals, such as epic, feature, user story, story, task, enabler, spike, etc.
  • Testing changes and remediate all known security issues before committing them into the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipeline and document all testing scenarios applied against the change.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  Salary pay range:  140k - 190k
