Description

Part of the engineering department, the Engineering System Operations Manager is responsible for managing the server, and computer infrastructure for the entire organization along with the team and vendors that support it.  Works with Engineering Compliance, Network Operations and Engineering Security Managers to develop and maintain information security policies, standards, and processes.  Participates in IT compliance audits including JSOX, PCI, CCPA and other compliance or privacy initiatives. Will work with the development team and business stakeholders to ensure that all infrastructure capacity, performance, availability, and security needs are met.  Key responsibilities include overseeing infrastructure monitoring, maintenance, repair, patching, upgrading, security, and future planning.   

Qualifications/Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a senior level or manager in IT/Engineering
  • Minimum seven (7) years of hands-on technical experience with infrastructure and security including client server systems, networking, telecommunications, firewalls, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, and information security
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Management
  • Able to effectively manage personnel and set department priorities
  • Able to assess and improve policies, procedures, and processes
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot issues with software and hardware at the user and system level
  • Maintains a flexible schedule to accomplish tasks
  • Maintains a commitment to providing outstanding customer service to each customer
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Must be able to meet performance, productivity and efficiency standards
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Establish SLAs and ensure team performance to provide WOW level customer service and service delivery for all customers both internal and external
  • Manage the assessment, development, and enhancement of engineering policies, procedures, and processes to meet the evolving needs of the organization
  • Manage vendors including risk based evaluation of vendors, negotiation of contracts with most advantageous terms and rates, soliciting multiple bids and options when appropriate, and treating vendors with the Sunstate core values
  • Oversee management and strategic planning of engineering infrastructure including the operations portion of the department budget and capital expenditures
  • Work with Engineering Compliance Manager to fulfill compliance duties
  • Work with Engineering Security Manager to align with security policies
  • Work with Engineering Network Operations Manager to ensure Systems are operating properly within the network infrastructure
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and awareness of emerging technology, industry trends and best practices related to IT security, infrastructure, and processes
  • Communicate, communicate, communicate timely and thoroughly
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience in a related technical or business discipline
  • Minimum of one (2) year of personnel management experience
  • Experience with ITIL
  • Experience with finOps
