Tetra Tech International Development Europe is Tetra Tech's European business unit focused on International Development. We are based in London with offices in Kenya, Nigeria, Poland, and the Netherlands. We deliver international development programmes focused on economic growth, governance and justice/security, and infrastructure, for clients such as the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the United Nations, the European Union, the European Investment Bank and other donors and funding agencies. We also have a strong in-house Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Practice consisting of 35 evaluators, statisticians, economists, social scientists, and research managers.

Job Overview and Reporting Line:

Tetra Tech International Development Europe is inviting applications for an internship in its London office. This is a 6-month contract working with the Business Development team to support full project design and proposal development cycle of activities with training and mentoring provided throughout.

In this role, a successful candidate will gain an in-depth insight into donor-funded international development sector and work across a range of technical disciplines. As part of one of the leading international development projects management and consultancy companies, you will develop skills and understanding used to solve complex problems with an aim to progress Sustainable Development Goals.

We are seeking entrepreneurial candidates with an interest in international development sector, business development, project design and proposal development. You will bring to the team excellent written and verbal communication skills and a problem-solving mind-set. Attention to detail, analytical, research and good organisational skills are crucial in this role given the complexity of our projects and quality driven working environment.

The role is based in London with flexible work on offer with a minimum of two days a week in the office.

Main Duties:

  • Support developing compliance, partnership and association documentation and managing the document workflow from drafting to appropriate signature.
  • Research and analysis of international development policy themes and country-specific developments in Tetra Tech's countries of operation.
  • Supporting the maintenance of business development systems and information, and accurate records of pipeline and projects.
  • Writing and formatting compelling case studies and presenting company and projects in an effective way.
  • Support communications and marketing team in thought leadership event planning and production.
  • Opportunities to attend industry events to hear about latest thinking and developments.
  • Building strong relationships with Business Development internal stakeholders including pursuit teams, in-country teams and technical specialists across the Tetra Tech operating units.

Aptitude and skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to create compelling and concise content using Word and PowerPoint.
  • Awareness of international development work and projects and an interest in addressing the social, political, environmental and economic challenges around the world.
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a complex, demand-driven environment.
  • Analytical and research skills and an ability to quickly acquire knowledge on new areas.
  • An entrepreneurial attitude with ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant subject is an advantage.
