Description

PRO-Telligent, A Tetra Tech Company, needs an Architect in Athens Greece for construction and rehabof 5 Acre U.S. Embassy Compound (NEC) with State Dept. Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO). You would deploy in January/February. Requires a US Govt. Secret Security Clearance.

Athens Embassy New Construction and Major Rehab

  • Primary elements include:
    • Improvements to Main Chancery
    • New 4-story Addition to Office Annex 
    • Renovation of Existing Office Annexes
  • Secondary elements include:
    • Seismic Improvements to Building Structure
    • Replacement of Glass Facade
    • Rehab of Marble Cladding
    • Replacement of systems (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) and equipment
    • Replacement of all interior furniture and most interior finishes
  • Additional Elements include:
    • New Vehicular Compound Access Control Facility
    • Relocation of Site Utilities
    • New Entrance Pavilion
  • Construction Specifics
    • The Embassy is Active and must remain functional
    • Security measures will be in place to ensure continued diplomatic functions
    • Work has been split in to 4 carefully managed phases
    • Phases 1 and 2 are complete and Phases 3 and 4 are now beginning
  • Assignment is expected to last 24 months.
  • Housing and transportation allowances provided.

Position Description

  • Provide project with full range of critical architectural, construction quality assurance, and technical oversight.
  • Perform technical inspections, monitor construction contractor's quality control program, and review project drawings to ensure compliance.
  • Observe onsite construction and determine if construction elements are being installed, formed, and executed properly.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals from construction contractor in order to identify problems or non-compliance with design or contract specifications.

Requirements

  • US Govt. Secret Clearance or higher
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a U.S. institution; or a Masters Degree in Architecture certified by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).
  • 7 years construction experience
