The position is based in Boston, MA.  

 

The Resident Project Representative (RPR) position provides an opportunity to work on exciting large-scale civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will provide daily construction inspection services focusing on electrical and instrumentation & controls. This position will be assigned to the Dow Brook Dam Improvements project.  

 

Your Role

  • Observe, inspect, and document wastewater treatment construction with a focus on electrical and instrumentation.  
  • Ensure compliance with design plans and specifications and permit requirements  
  • Document contractor progress, maintain accurate quantity records, generate punch lists, and certify completion status  
  • Proactively review progress and work with contractor to recover schedule or correct deficient work  
  • Proactively resolves problems on the job site  
  • Document site activities accurately by maintaining accurate and current field books, construction reports, and as-built record drawings  
  • Coordinate with Client personnel, contractor, and project stakeholders during course of the projects  
  • Advocate for site safety and coordinate with public for safety awareness  
  • Monitor and track additional work, change order work, or force account work  

 

Qualifications:  

  • 15+ years of experience inspecting electrical projects. Prefer wastewater inspection experience, but will consider those with other strong experience  
  • Ability to analyze and understand plans, contracts, special provisions, standards & specifications  
  • Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations  
  • Experience in delivery of and/or supporting technical work (construction technical specifications, drawings, documentation) in a construction environment  
  • Experience with large treatment plant construction projects preferred.  
  • Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes  
  • Construction oversight of electrical and Instrumentation & Controls improvements for water and wastewater treatment facilities, preferred.  
  • Must exercise independent judgement and work to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements  
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to timely communicate project issues to the various project participants
