Project Summary:

The goal of the USAID/OTI Moldova Resilience Initiative (MRI) is to strengthen support for a democratic, European Moldova. USAID/OTI and MSI will work with a coalition of civic, media, and government stakeholders in support of program goals. The program will operate primarily through a small grants mechanism and will rely on ongoing analysis of the local context to inform programming.

Position Summary:

The Creative Hub Graphic Designer will contribute to MRI's efforts to support implementation of strategic communications. The Creative Hub Graphic Designer will produce high-quality visual content that complements the activity's communication strategy and enhances the effectiveness of its campaigns. The design will be used for promotional materials, social media, websites, print materials, and other communication channels to convey key messages and engage with the public. The selected candidate will work with the visual design, campaign support, visual storytelling, design process, branding, digital and print materials. This is a short-term assignment with an expected level of effort of 109 days. The position will be based in Chisinau, Moldova.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative and eye-catching designs that align with the program's communication guidelines and branding.
  • Create visual materials, such as infographics, illustrations, banners, posters, and social media graphics.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Hub Unit to understand the objectives and messages of various campaigns.
  • Produce campaign-specific visual materials that effectively communicate campaign themes and key points.
  • Utilize design elements and layouts to tell compelling stories through visual content, enhancing the overall impact of the communication efforts.
  • Refine designs to ensure they meet the communication goals and resonate with the target audience.
  • Maintain consistency in visual branding across all materials.
  • Design materials suitable for both digital platforms and print, ensuring appropriate formats, resolutions, and color profiles.
  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Hub Unit, communication teams, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and understand the context of each assignment.
  • Provide timely delivery of design projects to meet campaign schedules and communication deadlines.
  • Maintain software proficiency in industry-standard graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) tor creating high-quality designs.
  • Coordinate with the Creative Hub Unit to ensure alignment with overall communication strategies and provide regular progress reports on design projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or another relevant field is required.
  • Minimum three years of experience working in the communications field is required.
  • Experience with USAID-funded or other international organization projects.
  • Familiarity with USAID communications policies is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously under pressure in a stressful environment and with partners from different cultural and professional backgrounds is required.
  • Ability to work and travel within Moldova is required.
  • Fluency in English and Romanian is required.
