Project Summary:

The Mozambique Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MozMEL) Activity is a five-year initiative to support the Mission in monitoring, evaluation, learning, training, and logistical support. The Moz MEL Activity has been asked to conduct an intervention in Cabo Delgado that will include monitoring, verifying, and evaluating Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA)-funded activities in Mozambique.

Position Summary:

The Driver position will be a full-time position for the Pemba office in Mozambique. The Driver will report to the Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) Operations Specialist. The expected frequency of driving per week is around 24-36 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the security of all passengers.
  • Drive responsibly and care for the vehicle.
  • Ensure that the assigned vehicle is well maintained and clean.
  • Drive the project vehicles throughout the whole territory of Mozambique.
  • Check the vehicle's condition and requirements and fill in the Vehicle Logbook daily, correctly, and completely accounting for distance, location, and all other information.
  • Ensure that proper maintenance and servicing of the assigned vehicle takes place on a day-to-day basis and reporting any issues to supervisors immediately.
  • Ensure that MSI rules and regulations are completely followed.
  • Report the accident immediately to the supervisor in the event of involvement in an accident.
  • Work on rotated work schedule, such as day shift duty and night duty, as per the needs of the project.
  • Meet official personnel at the airport.
  • Collect and deliver mail, documents and other items to different ministries and locations.
  • Be punctual in the performance of all duties.
  • Perform any other duties as required from time to time by the supervisors.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of driving experience is required. Limited to no accidents in driving experience preferred.
  • Valid Mozambican driver's license is required.
  • Experience driving with USAID funded projects, or other international development organizations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with local and organizational transport rules and policies is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to regions outside of area of assignment is required.
  • Oral proficiency in English is required.
