We are seeking up to two Junior to Mid-Level, Environmental Scientists, Engineers or Geologist, who are already on island, to support air monitoring on the island of Maui, HI. 

Selected candidates will be responsible for maintaining continuous air monitoring stations on the island, as well as weekly air sampling for asbestos and heavy metals.

This position is predominantly a field position. Work will consist of working 5-7 days a week (depending on project), 5 – 8 hour days and will average 40-45 hours per week.

Selected candidate must be on island.  

This is a part-time, temporary position for up to one (1) year.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is required to have either a BS degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology, or have at least two years' experience in the environmental / industrial hygiene field.  In addition, you will have / be:

•    Experience in GIS, data base management, working with big data, and SQL Server Data Base Management is a plus.
•    Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. 
•    Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills
•    Proficient with MS Office applications required.
•    Selected candidate must be on island.  

Degree / Certifications
•    BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Industrial Hygiene, or similar
OR
•    2-years' experience in environmental sampling/ industrial hygiene / remediation 
•    40 hour-HAZWOPER certificate (must be current or within 2 years of completion of initial class) OR complete 40 – hour HAZWOPER prior to first day of work is preferred.

Work Environment
•    This position is predominantly a field position. Work will consist of working 5-7 days a week (depending on the project), 5 to 8 hour days, and will average 40-45 hours per week.
•    You must be able drive on a regular basis.  Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
•    Must have your own transportation.  Mileage will be reimbursed.
•    Heavy lifting of field sampling and other equipment is required, up to 35 pounds.
•    Must be able to work out in the field in ALL weather conditions, in all seasons, including hot, humid, and cold weather.  

The salary range for this position is $28.00/hour to $32.00/hour depending on experience, education, skills and location.
