Your Role: 

  

We are seeking multiple designers (Mechanical and Structural) to provide direct support to the multi-disciplinary Engineering Departments for our Pickering, ON office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Prepare complex BIM/ 3D models using Revit.  

  • Maintain and develop standard Revit families, Plant3D/ CADWorx piping specifications, and BIM data requirements in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Administrate and help to drive the digital transformation of design reviews using cloud technologies such as the Autodesk Construction Cloud. 

  • Integrate vendor designs/ 3D models ensuring integrity of BIM data is maintained by developing new workflows for working with different design authoring technologies such as Siemens NX, Bentley Microstation, etc. 

  • Prepare Bill of Materials using Revit schedules and standard piping specifications from the 3D model. 

  • Take ownership and collaborate with other design disciplines to complete multi-discipline design tasks. 

  • Develop and detail high quality drawings, with strong attention to detail using a 3D first workflow. 

  • The ideal candidate will be capable of committing to and maintaining project timelines while working on multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required. 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Must be proficient in Revit. 

  • Experience with Civil3D, Plant3D, CADWorx, AVEVA E3D or other BIM Models is considered a strong asset. 

  • Knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, or National Building Code is considered an asset. 

  • Graduation from an accredited institute program in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Technology or Technician with OACETT Certification is considered an asset. 

  • 5+ years of relevant design/drafting experience in consulting and/or Energy industry is considered an asset. 

  • Computer knowledge in MS Office Suite. 

  • Ability to work in team environment. 

  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written. 

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks. 

  • Effective problem-solving skills. 

 

Additional Information 

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
