Your Role:  Provide mid to senior-level geologic technical support for environmental investigation and remediation projects, primarily in the areas related to geology, hydrogeology, remediation, modern data collection methods, and data interpretation/presentation.  Provide support for the data visualization practice and ongoing data management initiatives to streamline the data lifecycle workflow. 

 Responsibilities:  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned.

o   Provide mid to senior-level geology and hydrogeology input to projects.

o   Plan and oversee/perform hydrogeologic investigations and remediation projects.

o   Maintain strong skills/capabilities regarding technical areas, especially in the areas of general hydrogeology and modern groundwater characterization/remediation techniques.

o   Provide guidance to and mentor junior staff in technical areas (including but not limited to the fields of general geology, hydrogeology, and groundwater characterization/remediation) to build overall technical capabilities of Tetra Tech staff.

o   Technical report writing and data evaluation tasks.

o   Assume project management role based on capabilities and experience.

o   Assume lead technical role for projects and/or programs.

o   Assume supporting roles in proposals and marketing.

Qualifications:

·         40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher training is required. Other OSHA training is desirable. 

·         PG license preferred.

·         Candidate must be competent with ESRI software products.

·         Strong understanding of databases and data management is preferred including experience with MS Access and MS SQL Server

·         Solid computer skills required, advanced skills desirable, including knowledge of relational databases, pre- and post-data processing, programing languages (e.g., Pythion, R), and GIS.

Education & Experience: 

·         Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a geosciences (or related) field required, Master's degree (MS/MA) and/or hydrogeology-related academic experience preferred.

·         8-12 years directly related professional experience in geosciences-related work (advanced degree may serve as 1 year of experience), including a strong background/demonstrated experience leading environmental site characterization and remediation efforts. 

·         Experience planning and leading complex investigations to evaluate nature, extent, fate, and transport of contaminants in the subsurface, and collecting data to support risk assessment and remedial options is required. 

·         Experience with modern investigation techniques including digital data collection, high-resolution site characterization (HRSC) techniques (e.g., LIF, UVOST, CPT, and MiHpt technologies), and contaminant flux profiling is preferred. 

·         Capable of evaluating geologic, hydrogeologic, and chemistry data to reach sound technical conclusions and present/document findings in presentations and project reports using text, figures, graphs, etc. and integrate into 3D visualization or groundwater modeling programs.
