We are seeking a highly motivated client manager to grow our Virginia Beach water/wastewater infrastructure group. As a key player in our organization, you will leverage the Tetra Tech brand and your strategic vision in a region that is showing tremendous growth potential in the field of planning, design, operations, and management of a wide variety of water/wastewater and stormwater projects. This role requires a forward-thinking professional who can navigate the complexities of consulting engineering, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and implement innovative strategies to further our company as an innovator in this emerging market. Your Role: 

·         Participate in municipal client business development activities, including:  

o    Developing strategic capture plans, marketing materials, and presentations; 

o    Setting up meetings and making presentations to prospective clients; 

o    Leading and/or preparing technical proposals and cost estimates; 

o    Serving as seller-doer to increase market share with current/new clients; 

·         Participate in and head project teams in the planning, design, and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure facilities; 

·         Coordinate work activities of various technical staff and consultants, communicate with various municipalities and governmental regulating agencies; 

·         Oversee construction contract management and observation services; 

·         Prepare reports and permit applications regarding water/wastewater; 

·         Supervise and mentor entry-level engineers; 

 

 

Qualifications: 

·         Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (other disciplines may be considered; Master's degree preferred);  

·         Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia required, or ability to receive in 6 months 

·         10+ years of experience in related water/wastewater discipline 

·         Valid Driver's License with and acceptable driving record 

·         Progressive experience in the evaluation, design, permitting, and construction administration of water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, water storage and distribution facilities, and wastewater collection systems; 

·         Demonstrated project management experience, including budget and schedule monitoring and control responsibilities; 

·         Experienced in client relations and business development; 

·         Leader and team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills; 

·         Local client experience is preferred, but not required. 

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation. The ideal candidate has also organized and managed the delivery of large metropolitan infrastructure projects from planning, design, through construction.
