Tetra Tech has an opening for a senior consultant with a focus on the ocean and coastal environments to join our team in South Kingstown, RI. We are seeking a motivated individual with consulting experience in coastal processes and climate resilience and excellent problem-solving and communication skills to join us in a blended role focused mainly on technical consulting, but including project management, proposal writing, business development, and internal support related to hydrodynamics, sediment, water quality, permitting support, coastal protection and climate resilience, and other environmental projects in the coastal zone.

Your Role:

  • Oversee and execute modeling studies of coastal and nearshore environmental processes, focused on: hydrodynamics, sediment dispersion, water quality, coastal/riverine flooding, waves, and more
  • Project management
  • Develop reports in the preparation of permits and regulatory documents
  • Provide technical leadership on approach to and execution of coastal and nearshore modeling projects
  • Directly support coastal services lead in business development and related growth initiatives
  • Coordinate with marketing team to support business development and growth
  • Lead proposal efforts
  • Client communications and public presentation

 

Qualifications:

  • M.S. in marine science, engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting
  • Demonstrated experience developing or applying numerical models to study coastal and nearshore processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of presenting complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork and collaboration
  • Self-motivated with ability to work on highly dynamic and interactive projects both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with programming languages for data analysis (e.g., MATLAB, Python)
  • Experience with business development, project management, and client interactions
