Tetra Tech is currently seeking a full-time, Senior, Environmental Technician to work in our Denver, CO office.   

We are looking for senior environmental technicians that want to make a difference with their knowledge, organizational skills, and passion in environmental assessment, emergency response, due diligence and remediation. This position will manage and oversee environmental projects, provide support and management on a variety of projects and programs, including support for federal, state, and local government contracts, as well as commercial clients.  


Selected candidates will collect and analyze various types of environmental samples, such as groundwater, air, and soil, and also review and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. You will provide training (and potentially conduct workshops) on safety and environmental procedures.  These trainings range from basic sampling to subject matter expertise based on the candidate's background (i.e. hazcatting).

Candidates will also write reports, analyze data, conduct environmental surveys, maintain and inspect lab equipment, and manage hazardous materials. You will work with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and address environmental issues, and also provide technical assistance and education to community groups and developers.

This is a full-time position for an individual with a strong technical background in environmental site investigation and remediation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8+ years of appliable experience.  You must also have experience with / be:

•    Strong technical background in environmental site investigation and remediation.
•    Emergency response, hazardous material, incident command is a plus.
•    Relevant regulations and compliance
•    Assessing sites, remediation, waste characterization is a plus
•    Programs like AutoCAD or ArcGIS a plus
•    Preparedness a plus
•    Hazardous Materials a plus.
•    Emergency response, hazardous material, Incident Command is a plus.
•    Demonstrated ability to develop and apply new and/or unique methods, approaches, and procedures.

In addition, you will have / be: 
•    Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment
•    Able to perform tasks without a lot of oversight. 
•    Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills
•    Strong attention to details and good observation skills.
•    Ability to document notes in a electronic forms. 
•    Multimedia sampling skills are a plus.

This position requires:
•    Driving on a regular basis.  Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
•    A background check.


Degree / Certifications
•    High school diploma required. 
•    Associate degree preferred.
•    Certifications are a plus (asbestos / lead-based paint inspector)
 
Work Environment
Work is a mix of field and office work.  Approximately 35% to 45% of your time will be field time on average.  Field time may be daily localized to the Denver area, while some may require overnight stay. Most work will be completed within the following states: Colorado, Montana, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming.  Opportunities may exist to work outside these states.  Some projects may require weekend work.

You must be able to:

•    Work in field environment for long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities;
•    Lift and carry backpack with tools and equipment up to 35lbs. 
•    Work outside in all weather conditions in all seasons,, both hot and cold..
•    Field work is localized but overnight travel and weekend work may be required.  
•    Drive on a regular basis.  Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.


The Salary Range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
