Summary: 

Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Senior Field Technician / Operator in Sacramento, CA with experience in hydrogeology. This role is primarily field base with typical tasks including but not limited to running and maintaining wastewater treatment plant operations. 

The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Scientist and Project Managers on a variety of environmental and remediation projects. 

Your Role:

  • Planning and preparation, water sampling, monitoring, system operation and maintenance, data compilation, analysis, and sampling oversight.
  • Operating remediation systems, including maintaining flow levels and operating parameters while keeping system performance logs.
  • Field Inspection, operations, sampling, data collection, and maintenance. Approximately 100% of travel/field work required which occasionally requires night and weekend shifts.
  • Wastewater Treatment system operation and maintenance.
  • Respond to remediation system call-out devices in a timely manner, as required per project.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system failures.
  • Prepare technical reports summarizing field and laboratory findings.
  • Management and maintenance of field equipment.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols to ensure personal safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project needs and address challenges.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma required.
  • 15+ years of experience with environmental and remediation projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of fluidized bed reactor systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience with SCADA.
  • Current OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Attention to detail, excellent technical abilities, and an ability to quickly learn new skills required.
  • Strong problem solving, time management, and verbal/written communication skills required.
  • Ability to travel and perform field work (approx. 100% of travel required).
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
  • A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Target salary range: $30.00 / hr to $37.00 / hr. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
