Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior Human Health/Ecological Risk Assessor for a remote work position. The successful candidate will have extensive experience conducting human health and/or ecological risk assessments in accordance with applicable guidance and requirements, especially related to CERCLA/Superfund sites and EPA's Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund (RAGS). This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Your Role:

 •    Develop, design, and implement human health or ecological risk assessments for contaminated sites.
•    Develop comprehensive conceptual site models. 
•    Supervise the performance of exposure assessments, toxicity assessments, and risk characterizations, and help in the career development of junior to mid-level risk assessors.   
•    Prepare final reports and reviews reports for submittal to clients. 
•    Act as lead human health and/or risk assessor on proposals and projects.
•    Support clients with regulatory agency negotiations. 
•    Support business development of the risk assessment technical area with new and existing DOD and commercial clientele.
•    Prepare and make presentations at scientific symposia and conferences and for client support. 
•    Participate as an instructor teaching a human health and ecological risk assessment course. 

Qualifications:

•    PhD in Toxicology, Biology, or related field and 15 to 20+ years' experience in environmental consulting or academia required. Research or work experience with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) environmental investigation or effects highly valued. 
•    DABT certification a plus; willingness to pursue certification highly preferred. 
•    Knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA and relevant state regulations is preferred. Knowledge of DOD and state risk assessment guidance is a plus.  
•    Must be initiative-taking and customer-focused, and work well in a team environment. 
•    Strong technical analytical skills and demonstrated excellent technical writing and verbal communications skills are fundamental to this position.
•    Current and valid driver's license for a state in the United States.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

•    Developing cost-effective remedial strategies for contaminated sites.
•    Interacting with clients and regulators as subject matter expert.
•    Managing the preparation of human health and/or ecological risk assessments in accordance with federal (EPA RAGS) and state guidance.
•    Reviewing and interpreting toxicological studies and reports. 
•    Risk communication experience with clients, stakeholders, and at conferences and professional organizations - presenting complex technical information in a concise and accurate manner.
•    Supporting the development of sampling and analysis plans for various media, including soil, groundwater, surface water/sediment, indoor air, and tissue.
•    Expert witness experience.
•    Project management, including budget and schedule tracking and maintenance.
