Your role as a Central Sterile Processing Technician is crucial. Your exceptional eye for detail and commitment to quality and compliance ensure the highest level of patient safety by carefully handling and sterilizing medical instruments.
As a Sterile Processing Technician, your responsibilities will include various tasks related to the preparation, packaging, processing, sterilization, storage, and distribution of medical devices, equipment, supplies, and instrumentation. You must follow established protocols, maintain accurate sterilization, and supply inventory records. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and auditing code carts and completing all required documentation before and after sterilization.
To be successful, you should have:
- High School Diploma or GED and certified as a CRCST Technician
- Completed a Central Sterile Supply Program
- Certification from the ‘ HSAP' Healthcare Sterile Processing Association formally/International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM)
- Incumbent must complete 12 hours of continuing education to function as a CRCST
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
