Responsibilities

Summerlin Hospital is a 485-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children's Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women's health, and oncology care. Summerlin Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program.

Job Description:

Assists surgeons with exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, attends to the patients' direct care needs. Accepts responsibility for his/her integrity with respect to maintenance and compliance, to policies. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, and other team members, with respect to the requirements of a particular surgical procedure. Demonstrates and maintains dexterity sufficient for successful completion of his/her assistant duties on each particular procedure. Maintains a professional attitude with respect to the dignity, privacy, and safety of the patient. Functions within the limits of his/her ability, and within the scope of practice set forth by the medical staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and appropriate state law.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education:
Technical School/2 Years College / associate degree: Surgical Technology, or program board eligible for SFA certification required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Must have Robot FA experience.

Experience:
Three to five (3-5) years surgical tech experience required. Five to eight (5-8) years surgical tech experience preferred.

Technical Skills:

Continuing education programs to maintain and enhance clinical competencies related to perioperative or First Assisting practice.

License/Certification:
Current CSFA certification (through NBSTSA), CSA (through NSAA), or SA-C certification (through ABSA) required. Certification must be maintained for employment. Current American Heart Association (BLS).

Other:
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patient.

Compensation Range:

$ 37.98 - $ 50.32 / hour
