Summary of Job Duties: The appointment of Instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery shall reflect UAMS's prevailing pledge to promote academic excellence, provide patient care and promote the health & wellness of Arkansans. As an Associate Professor, it is imperative to provide coordination, continuity, and consistency in patient care, community outreach, and medical education. Appointments may have a varied responsibility in the areas of patient care, medical education, and/or scholarly activities.
Qualifications:

• PhD degree PLUS (two) 2 years in biological sciences or related field required.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Doing research related with the use new, low-cost lasers and photoacoustic flow cytometry for early diagnosis cancer, infection, and cardiovascular disorders.
• Testing and demonstrating with biological phantoms.
• Communicating regularly and in a timely fashion with the mentor regarding research and other issues relevant to the operation of the systems in the lab.
• Assisting with the daily operations of the laboratory
• Assisting with the supervision of the other members of the laboratory
