The Supply Chain, Purchasing Agent administers the complete lifecycle for new and used equipment purchases within a specific fleet category. This includes but is not limited to purchase order processing, issue resolution, reporting / analysis, and superior customer service to all United Rentals branch locations. Essential Duties: Supply Chain/Procurement * Responsible for administration of full cycle of rental equipment and non-rental equipment and vehicle purchase orders within a specific fleet category. Duties include issuance, confirmation, freight recommendations, and troubleshooting / issue resolution with branches and equipment vendors, * As needed, obtain necessary approvals from Corporate Sourcing and Fleet teams * Create advance purchase orders to ensure fleet availability once fleet needs are determined * Continuously update PO data to properly reflect current trends * Maintain historical data and provide trending reports to Region Fleet Directors Operational/System Support * Input standardized equipment configurations into RentalMan operating system Build and maintain equipment desk reference guide for internal team * Analyze freight quotes from OEM and freight broker to determine optimal delivery and associated costs * Validate RentalMan and Catalyst AP for correct data on equipment receipts * Participate in educational opportunities for improved fleet knowledge * Administer data queue to ensure Item Master support submission forms are properly dispensed until approved or denied * Administer company compliant sales to rentals transfers for the field * Provide data updates to continually make the system more user-friendly * Complete data entry for new and updated supplier lists and catalogs Customer Service * Act as a liaison between branches and suppliers, resolving issues as necessary * Work with branches to ensure completeness and accuracy of all purchasing requisitions. * When appropriate, work directly with Risk department, Branches and suppliers to see equipment quality complaints through to resolution Education: College degree preferred Experience: Purchasing/Buyer education or experience preferred Other Skills Required: o Highly organized individual o Ability to prioritize o Good communication skills o Microsoft office skills required o Attention to detail, organized o Knowledge of construction equipment a plus Working Conditions: Professional Corporate environment; professionalism, courtesy and telephone etiquette are a must.
