This is one of several HR Coordinator positions supporting clients/departments in the divisions served by the SSO.

The Shared Services Organization (SSO) provides administrative support functions for both UC Davis and UC Davis Health in Human Resources, Leaves of Absence, Records, and Payroll administration. The SSO is one of four Service Delivery Channels providing support to campus employees (~22,000) and departments (~450). SSO clients include staff, students, some academics and managers/supervisors of these units.


Job Summary

Under general supervision of the HR-Shared Services Organization (HR-SSO) People Services HR Supervisor, this position provides daily support for student recruitment and onboarding activities for Shared Services Organization (SSO) clients. Perform a variety of functions and transactional processing related to student recruitment, onboarding, and monitoring of ongoing employee programs. Serve as primary liaison between HR-SSO clients and campus partners, ensuring accurate application of HR policies, procedures and best practices.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Experience coordinating student and/or staff pre-employment activities
  • Experience with web-based integrated systems recruitment and personnel systems, and presentation software applications
  • Experience performing transactional processing functions
  • Experience interpreting and applying personnel policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Experience maintaining a high degree of discretion, integrity, and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy
  • Experience using various programs and software such as Outlook for word processing, spreadsheets, scheduling, entry and retrieval of records, and database management programs


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education/Experience:   

  • Experience organizing workload independently and setting priorities, adapting to changing work priorities, and performing multiple unrelated tasks including working independently as well as in an team environment
  • Experience using case management systems with automated workflow
  • Experience in a Shared Service or Service Center environment
  • Experience interpreting and applying University human resources policies and collective bargaining agreements

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Organizational skills to effectively coordinate multiple assignments
  • Interpersonal communication and customer service skills to secure and/provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems, and provide subject matter guidance
