Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Cancer Center supervisor, the Clinical Nurse III provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Cancer Center.  The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.  Acts as a role model to students and Clinical Nurse's new to the unit. May function as a (PCC) Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager, and acts as a clinical resource to staff, participating in advanced clinical practice.  Assists in patient research accural by varied projects and reviewing patient schedules against available protocols.

Salary Range: 

 

Hourly Rate  Minimum   $62.89                  Midpoint              $74.63               Maximum $86.36

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Current California RN license

Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques

Knowledge and practice of body mechanics

Knowledge and practice of age related acuity levels

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English

Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment

Ability to work effectively with colleagues, physicians and others as part of a care team

Ability to maintain attendance standards of the organization to support organizational goals.

Current BLS certification

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

BSN Degreee

Chemotherapy Certification

Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families

Understanding of JCAHO requirements

Strong oncology background in acute/ambulatory setting
