The Director of Project Services leads a team of skilled professionals responsible for the strategic planning, management, and execution of critical construction programs impacting research, students, staff, and critical infrastructure across UC Irvine. This position. Oversees a $200 million annual construction portfolio and functions with an extremely high degree of autonomy to ensure efficient project delivery, compliance with federal, UC and state regulations, and alignment with system-wide objectives and initiatives. Provides oversight of a broad array of construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects, and monitors those projects for compliance, costs, and quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards. Provides oversight in the assessment and strategic planning of all assigned areas, and visionary leadership for shaping mid to long term projections while actively soliciting ideas from staff and university stakeholders. Incumbent will have This position requires a proven track record of success in managing complex construction programs, leading diverse teams, and ensuring adherence to budgetary and regulatory constraints while . The ideal candidate will possess possessing strong strategic thinking, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with a deep understanding of construction management principles, UC systems and policies, and the ability to function with a high degree of autonomy.

- 10 or more years of progressive experience in construction management, project management, or related fields. 2 or more years in a senior leadership role overseeing large and complex construction programs.
- Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent experience / training in architecture, engineering, urban design, city planning or landscape architecture
- License to practice in at least one of the following professions: architecture, engineering, urban design, city planning or landscape architecture.
- Certificate to practice in at least one of the following professions: architecture, engineering, urban design, city planning or landscape architecture.
- Thorough knowledge of and experience in planning, design, construction, environmental issues, legal issues, federal, state and local laws, regulations and practices governing planning, building design and construction, state and federal legislative processes.
- Thorough financial, budgeting and cost management skills, including interacting with and synthesizing widely divergent viewpoints and interests.
- Thorough knowledge of the organization, including its vision, mission, goals, achievements, infrastructure and short and long range strategic capital projects plans.
- Excellent organizational skills including skill in consistently and effectively meeting budget and time deadlines.
- Excellent skills to lead, direct and manage personnel including selection, training, evaluating and, as required, taking corrective action.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including skill to work effectively with multiple constituencies to advance organizational objectives.
- Master's degree or 10 years in construction administration preferred
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools
