Position Summary: Ecology and evolutionary biology deals with the establishment of adaptations over evolutionary time and with the organismal function in ecological time. Faculty in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology study questions pertinent at a variety of levels of biological organization, from molecular aspects of evolution, to organismal structure and performance, to the ecology of ocean ecosystems. The Rebolleda-Gomez lab interests are in Microbial ecology, microbial evolution, experimental evolution, climate change, metabolism, and systems biology.   Under the direction of the supervisor, the lab assistant will assist in the collection of data for an experiment on microbial community responses to antibiotic exposure. Duties include making media, platting microbial cultures, counting colonies, obtaining metabolites, and entering data. Additionally, the lab assistant will provide help in the collection of data on plant traits during a laboratory experiment on plant-microbiome interactions. Duties include recording survival and growth of plants, measuring vegetative and floral traits, collecting fruits to determine seed set, and entering data.

The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $19.69 - $22.82 (Hourly Rate).
