Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide supervision to assigned staff. Responsible for overall production on assigned shift, ensuring consumers receive prompt and quality service. Incumbent is responsible to identify training needs and provide training to staff. Incumbent is responsible to ensure that customer requirements are met.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in related area and/ or equivalent experience/ training.
  • Supervisory and/or leadership experience to select, train, motivate, recognize, supervise, evaluate the performance of staff and ensure operational success
  • Experience to perform special job assignments consistent with related duties.
  • Must have knowledge to adjust assignments during staffing shortages and the ability to respond to emergency or disaster situations
  • Must maintain concise, accurate, legible and pertinent documentation and records relating to all aspects of assigned work functions. 
  • Knowledge of cost-effective materiel management functions of warehousing, purchasing, distribution methods, supply techniques, processing functions, and product liability is required of this position.
  • Ability to supervise departmental staff assigned to all production areas. 
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service. 
  • Ability to maintain a fair, consistent set of standards as they apply to workforce. 
  • Knowledge and use of mathematical calculations; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Skills for accurate calculations of inventory replenishment, weight, units of measure, and package counts are essential.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job. 
  • Knowledge to maintain multiple filing systems, records, and related information.
  • Ability to assist and lead in instruction of job-related in-service training classes and program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in computerized information systems is strongly desired. 
  • Knowledge of UC and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to all aspects of business.

Department Overview

The Supply Chain Perioperative Inventory Department has responsibility for, among its primary functions, the inventory management of medical supplies; patient equipment rentals and tracking; acquisitioning of specialty patient care equipment; par-stocking, supply, and equipment delivery systems.
