Position Summary: 

The Integrative Health Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day supervision and oversight of the SSIHI Pharmacy staff.  Incumbent functions as an expert in integrative/complementary therapies, such as herbs, nutritional supplements, acupressure, homeopathy, and imagery. The Integrative Pharmacy Supervisor uses this unique background, training, and experience, to assist patients, physicians, and other health care providers with conventional drug therapy and with the selection and use of integrative/complementary therapies to enhance care. The Integrative Pharmacy Supervisor serves in an advisory role to ensure patient safety, efficacy of all therapies, appropriate use of evidenced-based information, and fosters patient responsibility for individual health care choices. The Integrative Pharmacy Supervisor will develop and conduct specialized education/public information classes in the areas of service, as needed, and will perform the daily responsibilities of procurement, compounding or processing, dispensing, patient consultation, and therapeutic intervention. The Pharmacy Supervisor shall undertake tasks and projects to improve clinical and financial outcomes, develop policies and procedures, and participate in and support clinical research. The Pharmacy Supervisor shall actively precept and oversee pharmacy residents, students, technicians, and interns. Incumbents will make presentations to pharmacy staff and other medical professionals, within, and outside of the organization and publish in medical journals. Incumbent will lecture two times per year to other medical professionals and be published at least one time every three years in a medical journal. The Pharmacist Supervisor shall oversee pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and clerks and serve as the CA Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist-in-Charge. This position is directly responsible for the overall drug distribution, research, clinical, home, and retail pharmacy services. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy. In this role, knowledge of USP 795,797, 800 and all pharmacy laws and regulations are required.

Salary Range: 

 

Annual Rate  Minimum  $123,500.00                Midpoint  $182,700.00                         Maximum $241,900.00

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Knowledge and abilities necessary for the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position

Current BLS or ACLS certification

Excellent planning, organization and time management skills

Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree

CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing

Minimum four years of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist, or two years' experience & completion of a PGY-1 Residency

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Successful completion of PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency with an emphasis including Integrative Health, Sterile Compounding, or Pharmacy Administration

Minimum of two years' experience in integrative health programs

Advanced Practice Pharmacist license (APH)

Documented specialized training in integrative medicine/pharmacy

Knowledge and experience using EPIC electronic health record

Working knowledge of sterile compounding, USP797/800, and non-sterile compounding, USP795

Effective presentation skills
